Tara Mokhtari Azad is an interdisciplinary social engagement artist, illustrator and graphic designer born on October 26, 1991, in Tehran, Iran, and currently based in the Netherlands.

Her practice centers on migration, displacement, and social narratives. Through illustration, storytelling, and participatory workshops, she collects lived experiences and transforms them into visual and communal forms that resonate with diverse communities. As a social engagement artist, Tara works within social contexts, using art as a means to foster dialogue, connection, and collective reflection.

Through teaching and hands-on collaboration with a wide range of materials, she approaches art as a powerful tool for expression, understanding, empathy, and social change.
