Finding a sanctuary for the rediscovery of self in refugee camps
This master's thesis explores how communal creative sessions can foster a sense of belonging and emotional well-being among refugee participants. Grounded in embodied practice, the research examines how shared making and relational engagement create spaces of care, connection. Through practice-based research, facilitation, and reflection, the project positions the body not only as a site of expression, but as an active methodological tool. The work asks how embodied participation shapes trust, emotional safety and how creative practice can function as a form of social and emotional support.
